Announcement #2 There will be no deliveries Saturday the 26th of December. Note…If you are a bi weekly, and your distribution day falls on the 26th, you can wait until after the 26th, then go into your Farmigo account and switch your bi weekly schedule to the other bi weekly schedule. This way, your next box will be January 2nd. Instead of the 9th. Or send us an email and we will set it up for you.

Attention: We will no longer be keeping the fruit bags separate from the boxes at your pick up site. The fruit will also be in the box when you pick up your CSA from now on.

Here is a rare pic of my number one “paid”employee. My biggest
gripe is that he tells me off whenever he feels like it. But that’s okay.
I fire him about once a week.

Here is what we are eating this week.

Big bag of salad mix with lettuce, baby kale, chard and spinach
Sapote fruit. Seriously! They are almost gone.
Meyers Lemons
Persian Cucumbers
Couple Fuyu Persimmons
Brown Onions
Cinderella Squash
Limes
Zutano Avocado
Celery
Bell Pepper
Passion Fruit or two

Roasted Pumpkin was one of our side dishes for thanksgiving this year. Cut The pumpkin in 1/2-3/4 inch slices. Steam for 5-7 minutes. Put the slices on a foiled sheet. Warm some coconut oil. Put in a pinch of lime zest. Then squeeze the juice of the lime into the oil. add a couple tablespoons of brown sugar, honey or agave syrup. A teaspoon of turmeric powder. A teaspoon of ginger powder. And some soy sauce. Drizzle it over the squash. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes or until the squash gets soft to the touch.

Considering that we have the holy trinity of veggies in our box this week, “celery-onion-bell pepper”, may we suggest just about anything cajun. Or how about some homestyle meatloaf. Or meatless loaf with mushrooms and nuts instead?
